National Pawn was founded in 2001 by a hardworking father and son duo with a vision to create a community-focused pawn shop right here in Kansas City. At just 17 years old and still in high school, the son helped his father build the foundation of the business while his father continued running Jack Swalls Automotive in Kansas City, KS.

As the pawn shop grew, so did their commitment to the community. Eventually, the father sold his automotive business and joined National Pawn full-time. He brought years of business experience and an unrelenting work ethic to help shape the shop into the trusted establishment it is today.

After decades of dedicated service, he retired in 2023, passing the torch to his son. Today, the son proudly runs the business, continuing a deeply rooted legacy of integrity, dedication, and customer-first service.
